"Puppy Problems" is the thirty-eighth episode of the Krypto the Superdog. It premiered on April 29, 2005.
Summary[]
Krypto, and The Dog Stars, get turned into puppies by Mechanikat.
Plot[]
The Dog Star Patrol, call Krypto, for his help. on a rescue mission and Brainy Barker explains the situation as some students on a field trip are stranded on a asteroid. However, during the mission, Krypto discovers that the students are cardboard and the teacher revels himself to be Mechanikat in disguise. After reveling to his foes that the rescue mission is a trap, Mechanikat singles Snooky Wookums as he comes out and fires a ray on the Dog Stars. The ray turns the Dog Stars into puppies with no memory of who they are and their powers, thinking they are ordinary puppies. Due to the Dog Stars having no knowledge of who he is, Mechanikat takes advantage of this by telling them that he is their pappy and that he came to take them home. Krypto comments that Mechanikat doesn't look like a father dog but he barks like one to convinces them. After being asked what their names are, Mechanikat tells the Dog Stars who they are. Seeing that he gained the Dog Stars trusts, Mechanikat takes the puppies on to his ship in order to find a planet so no one will find them.
While on the ship, the Dog Stars cause trouble for Mechanikat by playing around and pushing buttons on his ship. Had enough of their playing, Mechanikat orders the Dog Starts to go to the nap room and Snooky Wookums, who he dubs him as Nanny Wookums, escort them there. While in the nap room, everyone is just laying on the beds while Brainy Barker is asleep but her ears come up and projects her dream. Krypto notices the projection from Brainy's ears as he goes to see it with Mammoth Mutt, Tusky Husky, Bull Dog and Hot Dog not too far behind him. Brainy Barker wakes up as she sees her friends staring at her then asks them what they're looking at and Krypto tells her to look at what her ears are doing. Seeing her ears, Brainy Barker gets excited as she believes that they are putting on a show. Tusky Husky feels the urge to chew on something and his tooth pops up. Seeing this, Bull Dog wonders if he can do that then brings out his horns. Mammoth Mutt tries the same thing but inflates as she accidentally knocks Hot Dog and crashes into Krypto. With Krypto on top of him, Hot Dog gets mad and tells Mammoth Mutt to watch it while his body is heating up. Seeing Krypto jump off of him, Hot Dog became surprised to see that his body is heated up while the latter sees that he can fly. Brainy Barker realizes that they all have superpowers and decides to show their pappy, Mechanikat, this.
Snooky Wookums reports that the Dog Stars are asleep and admires his idea in turning them into puppies too Mechanikat. However, the Dog Stars come in as they show Mechanikat their powers, which secretly frightens him that they rediscovered their powers. Through Mechanikat's orders to get them to leave, Snooky Wookums takes the Dog Stars to a play room and they follow him. However, they cause some more trouble when Tusky Husky turns the ship upside down. After Snooky Wookums put the ship upside up again, the Dog Stars are done playing as they want pappy, especially Brainy Barker as she wants to show him what his ears can do. Mechanikat, goes to see the situation but Bull Dog knocks the door down. Brainy Barker goes to see if pappy, Mechanikat, is okay but rediscover another one of her powers as she reads his minds and discovers the truth. Brainy Barker tells her friends who Mechanikat really is and that they aren't really puppies as he made them this way, which infuriates Hot Dog. Seeing that they now know the truth, Mechanikat brings his Katbots in but Mammoth Mutt uses her powers to squish them.
Brainy Barker explains to her friends that when she read Mechanikat's mind she saw where he put the puppy ray and hopes that it might make them big again. Krypto comments Brainy's intelligence. as she appreciates it. Brainy Barker gets the ray as she sets it for the middle and goes to join her friends. The ray returns the Dog Starts to their original selfs and Krypto decides to give Mechanikat a taste of his own medicine by turning him into a kitten. After the Dog Stars left to return to their ship, Snooky Wookums comes out to see Mechanikat, as a kitten. Seeing that he has no knowledge of who he is and himself, Snooky Wookums, tells Mechanikat, that he is his pappy. Hearing this, Mechanikat? goes to Snooky Wookums? and hugs him, much to his happiness.
